Dan's Homepage
Hello, and welcome to my site. You'll find some interesting stuff here, but mostly info on my favorite games and bands. Also, if I ever get around to taking home my school webmastering projects, they'll be here as well. If you hear music, it's the song "Aerith's theme" from one of the greatest games of all time, Final Fantasy VII

Video Games

One of the best game I have right now is probably Quake 3: Arena. This is a first person shooter with probably the best graphics aound. They are different from Unreal Tournament (below) because Quake 3 has more gothic architecture, and Unreal Tournament is set in the future. Quake 3 also uses fog and other effects to set the mood of the game.
Another first-person shooter I like is Unreal Tournament, which I mentioned above. Unreal Tournament is very similar to Quake 3, but improves on it in it's graphics quality, sound quality, and weapons selection. Unlike Quake 3, there are no Unreal Tournament weapons that I don't like playing with. Also, the screen layout is much better, showing you the weapons at your disposal along the bottom.
Final Fantasy VII is one of the best games I've ver played. It uses the awesome Materia system for magic, and it is not hard to learn. Over the summer I played it for 162 hours just so I could get my entire group up to the highest level and get every item and weapon. I also beat the "super bosses", Ruby and Emerald weapons. There isn't much to tell about this game without me writing for a few pages. You have to play it, so go on down to best buy and pick it up for $20 for the Playstation. Don't buy it for the computer, because the port sucks, and it just isn't very fun with the buttons strewn about the keyboard.

Bands

Metallica is my favorite band of all time. They have been releasing albums for years now, but their best is by far their most recent. S&M, Symphony and Metallica, is the best cd I've ver listened to. The San Fransisco symphony, conducted by Michael Camen, backs up the band beautifully, and the songs are excellently arranged so one blends into the next without a hitch. They also wrote a single, "I Dissappear" for the Mission: Impossible 2 soundtrack. MTV aired one of their "Making the Video" specials about the making of this song and video, and I'll try to have a short clip posted soon.

Megadeth is another great band. Unlike metallica, I like Megadeth's first album the best. "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying" is a great collection of songs that include some of my all time favorites, like the title song, and "I Ain't Superstitious." Their most recent album, Risk, is more of a throwback to 80's music, with a lot more vocals and rythm guitar than usual for a 90's group.

Limp Bizkit is another one of my favorite bands, because they are relatively new to this business, but are already touring with some of the biggest names in music. They are one of the only bands to have their video retired off TRL after exactly 90 days at #1! There is nothing Limp Bizkit can't do. They are also performing a song for the Mission: Impossible 2 soundtrack, which sould be out soon.

Skamakozi

I thought I should give Skamakozi a little review in here, since I got a price break on their first CD from their trumpet player. Skamakozi is a band here a kingwood High School that just released their first album, Skammunism, which you can get only in Kingwood For now. They play a whole bunch of songs from different groups, as well as some of their own stuff. The best song they sing, however, is Lit's "Own Worst Enemy."

Cartoons

One of my favorite cartoons is Dragonball Z. Click on the logo above to visit my DBZ picture site.
